Practicing Examen

If you've read this far then it's probably for you! Really, though, this course will most benefit those who are longing for new ways of connecting with God, or perhaps in a season of discerning God's direction in their life.

Examen is a brief daily prayer designed around reflecting on your day, and looking to the day to come. It is often practiced in the evening, though it works well in the morning too.

This is an online cohort, so you can participate anywhere you have a webcam and a reliable internet connection.

We meet 5 times for 90-120 minutes approximately every three weeks. The day and time of these meetings will be based on a time that best accommodates all participants.

The relational nature of a cohort adds a helpful element for learning a new practice. While you could, of course, read a book about examen, there is still that actual attention and effort that is required to make a habit of it. Sharing a growth experience alongside others offers encouragement and increases our own motivation to form new habits.

In each session, we will cover some content together, but also spend significant time sharing about our experiences together. Alongside encouragement, the relationships in a cohort offer extra insights that can be valuable to turn the brain-level knowledge of a practice into the heart-level experience of it. And, of course, the hope is you will likely make new connections that will last beyond our time together.

This is offered as a "pay what you can" model, with a suggested price of $250. This includes course materials, and our 5 meetings together. A payment link will be provided before the course begins.
